Mangalore : Confusion prevailed at some polling stations  in Mangalore  when  polling officials denied permission to vote to some people on the grounds that possessing  voters slip issued by the Election Commission was mandatory.

Though  the election commission has this time in a fresh move has issued voters slips to all voters, it however has not said anywhere that possessing these voers slips are mandatory.  Voters whose names are in voters list can exercise their franchise on producing of  voters ID cards or any other identification documents.

There was trouble in direct webcast of the polling stations  due to power cut in some polling booths. Barring some minor problems, polling so far has been by and large peaceful.
