Mangaluru: A conductor of a bus allegedly assaulted a student of Rosario college here at Jyothi on Tuesday. Both the conductor and the student got into scuffle over the latter’s bus pass.

The incident took place in a bus plying from Subrahmanya to Mangaluru. The conductor allegedly hurled abuses at the student before assaulting him.

The student, Mohammad Samad who was assaulted by the conductor told Newskarnataka that conductors often harass students for using pass rather than paying fare.

He also said that this harassment  was rampant since many months.

The students have registered a complaint in this regard at Bunder police station.
