Mangaluru: “A few trouble makers have published certain messages by morphing the still pictures from a local television channel stating that the ‘health condition of Quereshi is worse.These rumourmongers have tried to create trouble by abetting fear and tension in the society”, said City Police Commissioner Chandrashekar.

Addressing the media here on April 17, he said this was a case of these anti-social elements taking advantage of the situation. “Quereshi’s health condition is good and he is doing well. The medical report confirming the same will be submitted to the court”, he added.

“We have gathered information regarding these trouble makers. Within two days, necessary action will be taken against those under IPC Sections 505(2), 153 and 66 (c) of IT Act 2008.”

He also said that a few miscreants were issuing threats to the good citizens who tried to reveal the truth about the incident. He asked the threatened to approach the police department and assured to protect them.

“CID has taken up this case on alleged police harassment on Quereshi. We will provide all necessary documents to CID”, he added.

DCP Sanjiv Patil was present on the occasion.
