Mangaluru: Commissioner of Police P S Harsha has urged the rowdy-sheeters to utilise the government’s self-employment schemes and lead a peaceful life after their cases come to a logical end.
He was addressing a gathering of over 350 rowdy sheeters after conducting their parade at the police ‘Samudaya Bhavan’.
After the parade Harsha said that several NGOs and other institutions have come forward to provide them with jobs, an opportunity which they should properly utilise.
While there are many situations that may compel someone to indulge in criminal activities, there are many other opportunities for one to become a good citizen. The police department will conduct a training programme for the family members of the rowdy-sheeters to ensure that no one else from their families get into criminal activities, he said.
Harsha also asked the rowdy-sheeters to be present during their court hearings. “The police department is ready to extend its support to those who want to lead a good life henceforth,” he added.
DCPs Arunamshu Giri, Lakshmi Ganesh, ACPs Srinivas Gowda, Kodandarama and others were present.
