Complete lockdown in Kakkinje and Nariya villages from Monday

Belthangady: A lockdown is imposed from May 23 Monday to control the spike in Covid-19 cases in Kakkinje and Nariya village. The decision was taken by traders, merchants and leaders of the Gram Panchayat at a meeting held at the Panchayat Tent, across the aforementioned villages from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturdays.

There is also voluntary lockdown announced by the Gram Panchayat for 5 days from Monday in the nearby Charmaadi village.

With a population size of 6802 and 1350 houses, the Nariya village already has 164 active Covid cases. Of these, 158 are in home isolation and 6 are receiving treatment in hospitals. One passed away due to Covid 19.

The Emergency Health Service, the Milk Producers Association, the media, and regular newspaper distribution would all be exempt. Purchases of essential milk can be made through the Milk Producers Association. Vasanthi, the Chairperson of the Nariya Gram Panchayat, promised that the panchayat would be completely cooperative and helpful to its residents, particularly during emergencies.
