Mangaluru: While he was in Dakshina Kannada visiting the flood-affected areas of the district on Saturday, August 31, Siddaramaiah was forced to go on the defensive regarding a comment he had recently made.
Responding to the reporters about the comment, the former chief minister said that his remark “prostitutes can’t complain about the dance floor” was meant for the BJP and not for the Congress party’s former coalition partner, the JD(S).
“I meant that dancers who can’t dance, complain about the dance floor. That comment was meant for the BJP, who else?” the Congress leader was quoted as saying.
Recently, when a reporter asked Siddaramaiah for his reaction to the JD(S) workers blaming him for the collapse of the coalition government, he had said, “A prostitute who can’t dance says the floor isn’t right.”
It can be recalled that, after the 14-months-old Congress-JD(S) government collapsed on July 22, many blamed Siddaramaiah for the fiasco as many of the rebel MLAs were considered his loyalists.
