Moodbidri: A degree student of Alvas college collapsed and died while making a presentation in the classroom on Friday.

Nivedita(18), a resident of Kengeri in Bengaluru is the deceased. She was a second year B.Com. student at Alvas college.

The incident took place at around 12.30pm when she was making a presentation. She collapsed and was taken to a nearby hospital, but died on the way.

The police said that Nivedita joined the institution for her first year pre-university course and was staying in the hostel since then. She had scored 83 per cent marks in II PU and was a bright student.

Nivedita was the elder of two daughters of Chandrashekar, a retired librarian at Bangalore University.
