Coast Guard’s Air Cushion Vehicles to be commissioned by Governor

Mangaluru: Rajamani Sharma, deputy inspector general of Indian Coast Guard and commander of Coast Guard in Karnataka during a press meet in the city on Friday November 7 informed that the Indian Coast Guard’s Air Cushion Vehicles (ACVs) H-196 and H-198 will be commissioned on Monday November 10 by Karnataka governor Vajubhai Vala.

Adding to the details he said that IG SPS Basra, YSM, PTM and TM Commander Coast Region (West) will also be present during the event.

The Indian Coast Guard ship ‘Samudra Prahari’ is the first vessel in the country to be fitted with the latest pollution control equipment which was commissioned from Visakhapatnam. ‘Samudra Paheredar’ is the second pollution control vessel commissioned from Gujarat, while third pollution control vessel ‘Samudra Pavak’ will be stationed very soon,” Sharma added.

Anupam Rai, commanding officer of coast ship ‘Rajdooth’, Kailash Negi DIG of coastal guard and others were present.
