Mangalore: “Colombo Marine” a Sri Lankan high seas tuna long liner has been seized on Monday, April 7 in a joint operation by the Indian Coast Guard ship ‘Rajdoot’,  Coast Guard Surveillance Aircraft Dornier 776 and ‘St Antony’ a fishing boat, for poaching in the seas in Indian EEZ. The operation continued for over four hours and the vessel was seized at Cherapani Reef, nearly 188 nautical miles off the New Mangalore Coast.

Coast Guard authorities have seized two tons of sea cucumber worth Rs 1.2 lakh, ten diving equipment, a high frequency  wireless equipment and 16 LPG cylinders from the vessel. All 16 Sri Lankan fishermen on board were arrested, informed Rajamani Mishra, Coast Guard DIG to press persons here.

Rajdoot Commander Anupam Rai was also present on the occasion.
