Mangaluru: The coalition candidate from Congress and Janata Dal (S) Mithun Rai filed his nomination with Deputy Commissioner Sasikanth Senthil on Monday, March 25.

While filing the nomination, senior Congress leader and former union minister B Janardhana Poojary, Dakshina Kannada District in-charge Minister U T Khader, former minister B Ramanath Rai and JDS senior leader Amarnath Shetty accompanied Mithun Rai.

Prior to filing the nomination, there was a huge conference of Congress workers at the Town Hall, in which thousands of leaders and workers participated. A huge procession was taken out from Town Hall to DC’s office by thousands of Congress and JDS supporters before the nomination.
