CM to lay foundation stone for Konkani Museum on April 21

Mangaluru: The ‘Konkani Museum’- world class anthropological centre will soon become a reality as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be laying the Foundation Stone for the same on Thursday, April 21 at Kalaangann, Shaktinagar, at 3 p.m.
The museum has been promoted by World’s Premier Konkani Cultural organisation, Mandd Sobhann, which will be showcasing the unique and rare, rich and diverse Konkani culture.

This is going to be the largest Konkani Museum, anywhere in the world. The Museum will be set-up on a one-acre-plot adjacent to Kalaangann.

The government had allocated a sum of Rs 2.5 crore for the same in the 2016-17 budget.

Dignitaries from various parts of India and from around the world will be attending this event.

The Chief Minister will be accompanied by Umashree, Minister for Kannada and Culture, Child and Women Welfare, U T Khader, Health Minister, Vinay Kumar Sorake, Minister for Urban Development, Abhaya Chandra Jain, Minister for Youth Services and Fisheries, Dr M Veerappa Moily, MP and former CM, Nalin Kumar Kateel, MP, Shobha Karandlaje, MP, Congress leaders Oscar Fernandes, Pramod Madhwaraj, Moideen Bawa, J R Lobo, Ivan D’souza, Roy Castelino, Eric Ozario, Gurkar Kalaangann, Louis J. Pinto, President, Stany Alvares, Co-ordinator, Kishore Fernandes, Secretary, Clara D’Cunha, Treasurer Mandd Sobhann and many others will be present.
