Mangaluru: Central Tax CGST Commissiarate and Customs Commissiarate, Mangaluru along with residents of Chitrapura, Rotary Club and local organisations held a Clean Beach campaign at Chitrapur beach here on Monday August 23 at 7 am.

Speaking to News Karnataka Yathish Baikampady said, “During monsoon, lot of waste get accumulated on the sea shore which comes through rivers. Today morning as part of this initiative, beach cleaning activity was carried out at Chitrapura beach. The initiative known as ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ campaign is being observed from August 16 to August 31 by the officers of Central Tax CGST Commissiarate and Customs Commissiarate, Mangaluru.”

Around 100 people volunteered for the campaign. Commissioner Imamuddin Ahmad and Joint Commissioner Joannes George and other officers attended the cleaning drive.
