Bantwal: A class five student who was playing with few of his friends here died after accidentally falling into a stone quarry on Saturday, July 22.

The deceased, Irfan(10) was among the six children of Hussein, a coolie by profession and Zeenath from Kanchinadka Padav in Ira village.

It is gathered that he along with few of his friends had entered the stone quarry area despite fenced wires being put around it to play games on Saturday afternoon, it being a school holiday. However an accidental fall here proved to be fatal for Irfan.

Tahasildar Purandara Hegde and police personnel visited the spot.
