Clash in district jail yet again; two inmates injured

Mangaluru: Months after two jail inmates were killed and several were injured in a clash that took place, yet another fight erupted in Mangaluru district jail between two rival gangs on Friday, January 29.

It has been reported that two inmates were injured in the fight.

The clash erupted between Vijaya and Chandrahasa Poojary, belonging two different gangs. However, the cops rushed inside the jail and brought the situation under control. The inmates who were injured in the clash have been shifted to the Government hospital.

It may be recalled that two jail inmates-Madoor Isubu and Ganesh Shetty were killed by armed jail inmates and over ten suffered injuries in a major fight that erupted in Mangaluru district jail during their breakfast hour on Monday, November 2.
