Puttur: Daivas or the demi-gods have been an integral part of lives of the Tuluvas. Daivas are looked at by the believers as the great dispensers of justice. In an incident that reflects this belief, two youth in Puttur made their plea heard before a Daiva and sought justice after they were falsely implicated in a case.
The two youth were reportedly arrested by the Puttur police on February 25, on backdrop of the bundh called for by the right wing activists in connection to visit of Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan.
Deeply hurt by the incident, the two youth appeared before the Daiva- Kalkuda Daivasthana of Kallega, Putturu sought justice stating that they were of conspiracy.
The youth told that they faced arrests without any valid reason and that the Daiva must now show its power by punishing the ones who gave false details against them to the police.
With the youth making their plea heard before the Daiva, one may only have to wait and watch what action the Daiva would take to restore and uphold the faith that people have on it.
