Bantwal: The civic authorities acted quickly to avoid future embarrassment and criticism from public by clearing the clogged drains to allow free flow of water from flooded areas in B C Road.

For the past many years the service road used to get flooded near the flyover and water used to enter shops and residences lying in low lying areas thereby blocking traffic on the road. The town municipal council authorities acted immediately this time at the beginning of monsoon period by clearing the clogged drains using heavy machinery.

Public at large have appreciated the immediate response by the civic authorities which few feel was to evade the public wrath as many shops were flooded few days back  in the same area after heavy rains.

The clearing operations were monitored by the TMC president Ramakrishana Alva, Vice –President Mohammad Nandarbettu and other officials.
