City firm dupes job aspirants

Mangalore:In another case of fraud, this one  by a so called training academy, several students were reportedly duped   by the academy which managed to lure students after promising jobs in the army.

The  aggrieved students and parents staged a protest in front of the institute at Kulshekhar on October 29, Wednesday.

The firm named The Academy of Career Guidance, it is learnt, had collected anywhere between Rs 30,000 to Rs 1.2 lakhs from students and had promised jobs  including clerical and technical jobs in the Army.

Many of them alleged that though it has been eight months since they have paid the fee, so far the promised jobs have not been given.

In another development, S.P.Dayananda, a leader of Dalita Sangharsha Samithi has alleged that the academy owner Santosh Kumar S had threatened  him and even tried to get him attacked through rowdies. According to him, the support extended to the students by the DSS and the Samatha Sainika Samithi was responsible for this.
