Mangalore: As per the   decision taken by the DK District Bus Operators’ Association the fares   of city buses have been increased by 8 per cent for all stages except the first stage.

The revised fares will be effective from May 26, Monday.

The Association had earlier made an appeal to the Regional Transport Authority and the Deputy Commission to revise the fares of city buses. Accordingly, the fares of private service buses, express buses of DK district and buses of Udupi district were revised with effect from May 21.

In accordance to the government notification, the Stage one fare is retained at Rs 7 while for other stages, the fare has been increased by 8 per cent, the Association has informed.
