
Mangaluru: Under the leadership of Roy Castelino, public relations officer at Mangaluru diocese, Christian leaders met city Police Commissioner Shri. N Shashikumar.
After receiving the floral bouquet from the leaders, Commissioner spoke that he is interested in visiting all the religious and historical places and understand its artistic designs. While showing his name board in Tulu, he said, “I am delighted to work in Mangalore which is an abode for multiple languages.” He collected details on Konkani language too. He assured that he will make efforts to learn the language.

“Similarly, in order to maintain law and order situation, one has to mingle with the people, understand their sentiments and work accordingly. This will facilitate good relationship between the department and the public. In this direction your co-operation is essential,” he said. Roy appreciated his concerns and love towards art and culture and assured co-operation on behalf of the Christian community.

Lewis Pinto, president of Mand Sobhann, a doyen Konkani organization, Elias Sanctis, president, Association of Christian entrepreneurs, president of Catholic Sabha which has got 131 units under the limits of Dakshina Kannada and Kasaragod and Stany Alvares, social worker and cine actor were present.
