Sullia: The accused involved in assaulting Chiranjeevi, resident of Kuthar few days ago, with lethal weapons were nabbed by Sullia police at Kalugundi on July 12.

All accused, residents of Kudroli in Mangalore, were trying to flee to Madikeri when police apprehended them.

They had stopped their car for repair near a garage after a breakdown. Police learning of their involvement in the deadly assault of Chiranjeevi swung into action and nabbed the four men immediately.

The highway patrol wing of police played a key role in their arrest.  

There is no communal tinge to the assualt case and the incident is related to personal rivalry, it is gathered.

They are now in the custody of City Crime Branch police  and further investigations are in progress.
