Udupi:Parents of the students studying in a private school in Manipal gathered outside the school premises and staged a protest on September 23, Monday, close on the heels of the arrest of two crew of the school bus who had allegedly sexually abused a four year old girl who is a nursery student of the school.
The agitators demanded an explanation from the school management and alleged that the management and the principal were not responding.
One of the parents said there had been no response from the school management even when local MLA Pramod Madhwaraj tried to contact them. They demanded that the school convened a parent-teachers meeting.
There was also a complaint from some that the school never convened parent-teachers meeting despite several requests.
MLA Pramod Madhwaraj who too arrived at the school said the DC would be requested to summon the principal and management if the latter failed to respond.
The two accused namely Shubhakumar and Sudhir were produced before the District and Sessions Court and remanded to judicial custody till October 5.
The incident is learnt to have taken place on September 16, when three bus employees allegedly sexually abused the girl. The complaint was lodged only on Friday and the arrests were made on Sunday. The police are on the lookout for another accused.
