Chided by teacher, school boy attempts suicide in Kasargod

Kasargod: A young school boy attempted suicide by jumping into a well after being chided by his teacher at the school, on Friday. Raged by the incident, rest of the students in the school revolted and in the melee two students were injured.

The deceased is Alhad (14), an eighth standard student of Paravadka English Medium School. It is said that a teacher took him to task for not bringing a notebook to the school. Following this, the student ran out of the class and jumped into the well. The locals and alert students immediately lifted him out of the well and rushed him to a private hospital in Kasargod.

Since the water level was low, the boy was saved. He has sustained injuries on hands and legs.

Meanwhile, the ABVP members staged a protest outside the school against the teacher. The Kasargod police have been deputed at the school for security.
