CFI stages protest demanding closure of Mangalore One School

Mangaluru: Campus Front of India (CFI) district committee on Friday, April demanded closure of the Mangalore One school by June 1.

The Committee including district President Irshad Bajpe, district Chief Secretary Fayaz Manjanady, Ullal zonal President Irshad and other office-bearers staged a demonstration against the management of Mangalore One school and demanded closure of the school from June 1. They also demanded that the school be booked under the POSCO Act.It also demanded cancellation of school recognition and ban on use of private vehicles in the school premises.

A three-and-half-year-old girl, studying in LKG of this school was sexually abused by the said school van driver on March 13, 2015.

The protesters alleged that the the school was trying to save the rapist.They criticized the school for trying to hush up the matter and shield the accused despite the medical reports confirming rape on a nursery child.

They said that if their demands were not, they would intensify the protest and forcibly pull down the shutters of the school.
