Mangaluru: In a major breakthrough, the City Crime Branch sleuths foiled a bid for murder and dacoity and arrested four in connection to the case.

Acting on a tipoff about a murder and dacoity plan being hatched by 10 persons in Falnir, the CCB police intercepted their vehicle in Mulky, Chitrapu and arrested four. The others managed to escape from the scene.

The arrested, identified as Manoj Kumar(33), resident of Thokottu, Prasad alias Pachu resident of Mogaveerapatna Ullala, Shravan(22) resident of Mogaverapatna Ullala, Sujith(27) resident Bhatnagar, Ullal.

Police have confiscated things worth Rs 1,19,000 including lethal weapons, 40 grams of cannabis, a Tata Sumo car from the accused.

Accused Prasad is a rowdy sheeter, and has cases like assault and murder attempts in Ullala and Mangaluru North Police Stations.

A murder attempt case were also booked against Shravan and Manoj Kumar in Ullal polce station
