Mangaluru: The CCB police along with the Kadri police team on Friday, March 10 detained four persons in connection with a theft case in Kadri last week.

Tousif alias Munna Shailu (25) from Perdur, Mohammed Abdul Fayan (19) from Manjanadi, Abdul Safwan (22) from Dharmanagar, Ullal and Mohammed Arif (31) from Bajal, Padpu are the arrested.

On March 4, the group had allegedly assaulted and robbed Lancy Cyril Lobo, a resident of Kulshekar when he had stopped his bike a little ahead of the KPT petrol pump after refueling his bike. The accused had come in an Alto vehicle attacked Lancy and robbed him of his cell phone and cash before fleeing the spot. A case was filed in Kadri Police station in this regards.

The police having received credible information on the whereabouts of the accused on March 10 swung into action and a team led by CCB inspector Sunil Y Naik and Kadri Inspector Maruti Nayak arrested the accused from Derlakatte. They were later handed over to the Kadri police for further investigations.

The accused have had a criminal record and were involved in several crimes.
