Mangaluru: CCB police has detained four persons in connection to the assault on Basheer at Kottara Chowki on January 3, it is gathered.

The police, however is yet to confirm the news.

It may be recalled that the assault on Basheer took place hours after Deepak Rao was hacked to death in broad daylight in Kaatipala area. Basheer, who suffered critical head injuries in the assault has been battling for his life in AJ Hospital here, where he is undergoing treatment.
