Mangaluru: District Youth Congress President Mithun Rai was detained by the police as the members staged a stir in Mangaluru city, on Monday, outside the DCC office, at Kadri in Mangaluru, against the CBI raid on the properties of Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President DK Shivakumar on Monday morning.

The CBI sleuths struck at least 14 locations (properties) of DK Shivakumar and his brother DK Suresh, in an early morning operation, in connection to a corruption case.

The sleuths raided DK Shi, Sadashivnagar residence and also his house in his native village in Kanakapura.

Calling this move to be ‘politics of vendetta’ by the BJP, the youth congress leaders burnt tyres and shouted out slogans against the BJP. They even tried to block the road in Kadri.

Following this, the cops detained DK Youth Congress President Mithun Rai and others for violating the Corona safety guidelines.

Meanwhile, protests were also staged outside the residence of DKShi in Bengaluru, by the youth wing members against the raid.
