Mangalore : Pramod Mutalik, Chief of Sri Rama Sene has said that his organization wants the government to put an end to illegal cattle trafficking within 15 days failing which a Dakshina Kannada bundh call would be given.
He was speaking to the media men while participating in a training camp for Sri Rama Sene workers at Subrahmanya Bhajana Mandir, Neermarga on August 18, Sunday. Mutalik said the state government had completely failed to check cattle smuggling and even expressed concern over the recent incidents wherein cattle was stolen after threatening the owners.
He said CM Siddaramaiah is to be blamed for the rising cattle thefts and said it was due to the government decision to continue the anti-cattle slaughter Bill of 1964 by scrapping the one brought out by the previous BJP government.
Mutalk on this occasion also hinted that he would contest the next Lok Sabha polls either as an independent or from any party. He said he has not yet finalized his constituency.
The Sri Rama Sene leader also dwelled upon the issue of increasing Bangla infiltrants in India and said the Sri Rama Sene was studying the issue and would soon submit a report to the government. He also stated that many Bangladeshi infiltrants worked in coffee estates in Coorg and Chikmagalur.
Gangadhar Kulkarni, Kumar Malemar, Savitha Ranganath and other Sri Rama Sene leaders were present.
