Mangaluru: After the successful completion of the “Catholic Maha Samavesha – 2020” held at the Sacred Heart Church in Madanthyar a few days ago, the Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh is now planning to meet Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, in order to ask him to fulfil their various demands including the setting up of a separate Christian Development Corporation.
Convening a press conference in the city on Wednesday, February 5, Rolphy D’Costa, president of the Catholic Sabha Mangaluru Pradesh thanked all those who strived hard for the success of the conference. He said that important resolutions were made during the conference such as demanding the government to set up a separate Christian Development Corporation, reserve a site for the construction of a Catholic Sabha building, urging the government to impose a ban on drugs and mobile games like PUBG as a large number of youth fall prey to such social evils and to provide political reservation for the Catholic community during elections. A list of these demands will be presented to CM B S Yediyurappa and other elected representatives, he informed.
Catholic Women’s Wing Director Fr Francis D’Souza, ICYM president Leon Saldanha, director Fr Ronald D’Souza and conference convener Joel Mendonca were present.
