Case filed against Sadhvi Balika Saraswati for making provocative speech

Mangaluru: A case has been registered against Sadhvi Balika Saraswati for allegedly making a provocative speech during the Virat Hindu Samajotsava at Nehru Maidan .

The complaint has been filed by Suresh Bhat Bakrabail, president of Dakshina Kannada unit of Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike.

Sadhvi Balika Saraswati had addressed a gigantic crowd on the occasion of Hindu Samajotsava on March 1.

In his complaint Suresh Bhat Bakrabail alleged the Sadhvi agitated the crowd and made derogatory comment, she said, “Love Jihad should be countered by chopping off the heads of Muslim boys who look at Hindu girls”, he claimed.

The complaint urged for suitable action against Sadhvi Balika Saraswati and the organizers of the Samajotsava.

Based on the complaint, Pandeshwar police registered a case under Sections 153 (A) and 295 of the IPC.

On the other hand, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Santosh Babu K said Mangaluru South PS personnel also received a second complaint from a Muslim organization in connection with the speech. However, the complainants in this case will be treated as witnesses to the main complaint, he said noting that there is no provision to register multiple complaints to an incident and will be treated as a single complaint for investigation.
