Mangaluru: A 23-year old cable operator is accused of sexually assaulting a four-year -old girl at her house in Deralakatte on Tuesday. 

The accused is Ashraf, a resident of Kedambadi, Manjeshwar. He had been visiting the girl’s house in the pretext of repairing and colleting the cable bills, the complaint states.

Ashraf, an assistant in a private cable operator hailing from Kerala, was visiting the girl’s house since four days. On December 23, quarrel picked up between him and the girl’s mother, after she refused to make payments in return to the service, citing incomplete work.

Hence, the accused is said to have entered the house to remove the cable connection. Meanwhile, the girl who was in the room complained to her mother of sexual assault. 

Konaje police who managed to arrest him, have filed a case under POCSO Act.
