Mangaluru: Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh will visit Mangaluru on Monday, January 27 and participate in the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) awareness event that has been scheduled in Kulur.
According to sources in the BJP, Singh will arrive in Bengaluru on Monday noon and will leave for Mangaluru on a special flight. After attending the CAA awareness drive in Kulur, he will return to Bengaluru, from where he will travel back to New Delhi.
BJP leaders have informed that several Union Ministers are expected to visit the state in the coming days to create awareness on the CAA and National Register of Citizens (NRC).
It can be recalled that most recently, Union Home Minister Amit Shah was in Karnataka to address a pro-CAA rally in Hubballi. He was initially scheduled to hold the rally in Mangaluru, however, considering the violence that broke out in the city only last month, the event was moved to Hubballi.
The BJP’s national leaders have been visiting several cities all over the country, in order to spread awareness about the CAA following widespread protests and violence.
