Burglary in Bejai : Valuables worth Rs 1 lakh stolen

Mangalore :   A house at Bharathinagar behind the KSRTC bus stand at Bejai in Mangalore was burgled during broad daylight on August 23, Friday. Thieves have stolen cash and valuables worth nearly Rs one lakh from the house.

The house belonged to one Padmanabha, a labour contractor. The theft occurred when the family members had been to attend a function. The thieves had entered the house by bending the window grills of the bathroom. They had later broke open the cupboard and have stolen valuables including 40 grams of gold jewellery, a cash of Rs 5000 and two mobile sets all valued at Rs one lakh.

The family members came to know of the theft when they returned home in the evening. A complaint has been lodged at Barke police station.
