Builders, hoteliers flouting cleanliness norms will face action: Udupi DC

Udupi : Udupi Deputy Commissioner Dr Muddumohan has  said that a survey conducted by the Department of Health has revealed that  incidences of malaria were high in construction sites in the district.

Addressing a meeting held here on Monday May 26, the Deputy Commissioner said the building owners and hotel owners are themselves responsible for maintaining cleanliness in their area and ensure that their workers do not face health hazards.

He said each and every citizen has a  role to play in freeing the district from Malaria. Forty per cent of the Malaria cases reported from Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts and urged for preventive measures on a war footing.

He also warned of legal action against those who fail to abide by the guidelines laid down by the Health Department.

Dr Ramachandra Bayiri,District Health Officer, Dr Ashok, Kumar, Additional DC, Devaraj, Labour Officer, Prasanna. Town Planning Officer, Subrahmanya, Environment Engineer,   hoteliers, construction owners and others were present.
