Brightly colored devotees celebrate ‘Okuli’ in the city

Mangalore :Thousands of devotees at Carstreet in Mangalore celebrated the festival of Okuli to mark the culmination of six-day Kodial Teru or the Car Festival of Sri Venkataramana temple here on Friday.

The Car Festival concluded after the bath of deities in the holy tank. The deities of Lord Venkataramana and Goddess Padmavathi were taken in procession around the city.

The crowd rejoiced the celebration with the drizzling water. Children, young boys and girls were seen posing with coloured faces.The celebration recalled the festival of colors Holi,most of them were seen sprinkling bright colors like pink,purple and red on each other’s face.
