Mangaluru: The security body scanning process for candidates appearing in KPSC exams has faced criticism after allegations surfaced that it was not conducted professionally. The exams for junior assistant group C in the Karnataka State Audits and Accounts departments were held at the Government Women’s College in Balmatta.

Some candidates claimed that those involved in the screening process were possibly picked from colleges and lacked proper training for the job. There were allegations that one of the individuals conducting frisking appeared underage, and overall, they were not well-versed with the procedures. Pictures of an underage boy at the entrance of the exam venue have circulated widely on social media.

A senior official from the district acknowledged the allegations, stating that they had checked with senior officials in the state. It was revealed that the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) had outsourced an agency to handle the examination arrangements through a tender. The personnel involved in frisking and related activities were supposed to be trained, but the allegations suggest otherwise. The KPSC has taken note of the issue, and appropriate action is expected to be taken.
