
Mangaluru: Nine out of 14 fishermen onboard a fishing boat from Kerala had gone missing after the boat collided with a cargo ship on Tuesday. Search operations for the missing fishermen continued onto Friday, April 16.
While two rescued fishermen have been shifted to safety ashore, the bodies of two of the three fishermen have been sent to their native Tamil Nadu, and the body of another fisherman has been sent to West Bengal after post mortem.
The Coastal Security Police Force, a helicopter, and a ship from Karwar Naval Base are conducting search operations for the remaining missing fishermen.
Divers with extensive experience have also been hired for the search operations.
