Mangaluru: “Loksabha speaker Sumithra Mahajan has suspended 25 congress MPs alleging disruption in the parliament. This is an attempt of Modi led NDA government to shun our voice in a democracy”, said MLC Ivan Dsouza.
Speaking at a protest held at Congress office on Tuesday against the suspension of 25 party MPs including 6 from Karnataka, Ivan said that they have exposed scams of various BJP leaders. “This is our right. The opposition always exists to correct the ruling government whenever they are wrong. But this BJP government has no power to face us. This is a black day in the democracy”, he added.

“Modi government is working on a Hitler model of rule. The move to suspend MPs is an insult to 125 crore people of the country. We will continue the protest until Sushma and Raje resign”, he said.

AICC member P Mohan said that this BJP government has passed 55 bills without any discussion. “We have been protesting against the changes made in the Land acquisition act. Today the opposition succeeded in stopping ruling government’s move to snatch farmer’s land. This is a victory to us. Other parties too have supported us”.

Senior Congress leader Ibrahim Kodijal on the occasion said, “We have been asking for resignations of external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj and Rajasthan CM Vasundhara Raje in Lalit Modi case and also Madhya Pradesh CM against Vyapam Scam. We under the leadership of Sonia Gandhi have been protesting against the corruption cases in which BJP leaders are involved. We need justice. This is undemocratic act of ruling central government”.

“Their own senior party leader Advani had said that during the Modi government there will be an situation like that of emergency. This will happen soon if they continue to shun our voices, Kodijal added.

Party leaders shouted slogans against Loksabha speaker as well as BJP party and demanded the resignation of the tainted BJP leaders. Speaking further on the protest Ivan D’souza said that if they don’t revoke the suspension protests in the city will be intensified. “This is an insult to people of the country who elected these MP’s”, he said.
