Mangaluru: The legal Cell of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has alleged that the Congress party is misusing digital media in order to secure a win over their candidate, Nalin Kumar Kateel. They also informed that they would approach the Election Commission (EC) and Commissioner of Police (ComPol) and urge them to take action against the Congress party.

K Shambhu Sharma, legal adviser of the Dakshina Kannada district BJP unit told reporters here on Saturday, that though Ajith Kumar Rai Malady, the president of Bunts alias Nadavara Mathru Sangha, did not file any case against the BJP’s MP candidate Nalin Kumar Kateel, a fabricated news has been published on some digital media claiming the opposite.

Earlier, the Congress party had allegedly prepared a pamphlet, seeking the support of all the members of the Bunts and Brahmin communities to secure a win for Nalin Kumar Kateel in the Lok Sabha election, under Ajay Kumar’s name. When Ajith came to know about this, he approached the ComPol and informed that he never prepared such a pamphlet in favour of any party or individual and said that the Bunt community is neutral in this regard. He also urged the ComPol to take action against those who prepared the pamphlet and tarnished his image, Sharma informed.

“A television channel has published a fabricated news claiming that Ajith Kumar Rai had filed a case against Nalin Kumar Kateel for preparing the pamphlet and disbursing it in his name. But, Ajith Kumar Rai never quoted Nalin’s name in his complaint. The television channel telecasted such fabricated news under the direction of the Congress party. Hence, disciplinary action should be taken against them. During the previous Lok Sabha election, the Congress had attempted to secure a win through the wrong means. However, Nalin won the election with a huge margin. The voters will teach the Congress a befitting lesson this time also, and Nalin will win with a thumping majority,” he said.

BJP’s legal cell members Jagadish Shenava, Sudhakar Joshi, Santhosh Nayak, Ramakrishna Shetty and Purandar Rai were present.
