Mangaluru:  BJP state President B S Yeddyurappa, who arrived in the city to take part in a protest called for by the BJP Mahila Morcha said that the BJP would boycott the peace meet as per the call given by local MP.

On the delayed announcement of RSS member Sharath’s death Yeddyurappa alleged that the authorities hid the fact about Sharath’s death as the CM was in the city on the same day.

“I am in possession of all the hospital documents to prove my claim,” said BSY adding that he will meet the grieving family members of Sharath on Thursday.

Slamming the ruling Congress party, BSY said that they have stooped to the level of making politics out of an innocent’s death as well.

“Sharath’s killing was a planned murder and the authorities too have committed a crime by hiding it. The state has witnessed 24 such killings, but no action is being initiated by the CM who holds the Home portfolio,” he said prophesying that the Congress should give up its dreams of winning election in the coastal soil.

Endorsing his views, Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandalaje said that the culprits of Sharath must be nabbed at the earliest.

Senior BJP leader and former chief minister D V Sadanand Gowda too slammed the Congress government in the state with regard to communal unrest witnessed in Dakshina Kannada District recently.

On arriving at the Mangalore airport, on Thursday, Gowda took a dig at the peace meet to be convened on Thursday calling it a peace meet of the Congress and a convention of the supporters of District in-charge minister Ramanath Rai.

“Hindutva outfits and Hindu leaders have not been invited for the peace meet, while members of SDPI and PFI have been invited. We surely do not need such peace meets,” he said.
