Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) staged a dharna in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office alleging that Congress National President Rahul Gandhi has been misguiding and misleading the people of the country on Rafale deal, on Wednesday, December 19.

Former MLA N Yogish Bhat, giving a brief history of Rafael agreement said, “There was no hidden agenda in the purchase of Rafale fighter jets. Rahul Gandhi has been using this issue only for the sake of his own narrow political gains. This is a very serious matter that an elected representative of the country who is also the president of national party is misleading the people of the country on the basis of inaccurate facts”, he said.

District Vice President Ravishankar Mijar said, “The Supreme Court has already set aside all the petitions filed by the Congress leaders on Rafale deal and clearly stated that there is no scope or any solid basis to doubt this agreement. The court also found that the overall process in the Rafale agreement is transparent and as per the rules. Hence, Rahul Gandhi should be removed from his position of public servant for playing with such an important issue of national security”, he urged.

Meanwhile, protesters raised slogans against Rahul Gandhi claiming that he was making inaccurate, illogical and baseless arguments.
