Mangaluru: Minister for Urban Development and Housing U T Khader alleged that the BJP leaders are trying to get political mileage from the airstrike of Indian Air Force (IAF).
Responding to a query on BJP’s Karnataka unit chief B S Yeddyurappa’s recent statement that airstrike of IAF against Jaish-e-Mohammed camp would help the BJP secure 22 out of the 28 Lok Sabha seats in the state in the upcoming general election, Khader said if the Congress is worried about the safety of soldiers, the BJP is trying to receive benefit from the lives of our military forces.
Khader asked the BJP High Command to take action against Yeddyurappa for his irresponsible statement. “If the BJP has real concern over our country, it should take action against its leaders who deliver a disgusting and shameful statement”, he said.
When asked to respond on the statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi that the UPA government had denied permission for the IAF to launch airstrike during Mumbai terror attacks of November 26, 2008, Khader said, those who hold prime positions should not make cheap statements. Though former prime minister Manmohan Singh was speaking less, people had trust in his words, but now, despite Modi speaking more, people have no faith in his words,” he said.
