BJP’s women’s wing extends support to bureaucrat Rashmi

Mangalore: Extending support to IAS officer Rashmi V. Ramesh, the members of Bharatiya Janatha Party Mahila Morcha, Dakshina Kannada, staged a demonstration on Thursday, criticizing the state government for failing to handle  the case of assault on the bureaucrat and relieving her from the concurrent charge of Regional Commissioner of Mysore Division.

On October 15, Rashmi V Mahesh was manhandled by goons, when she was attending the funeral of her subordinate at Mysore, who was found dead in a mysterious circumstances. The mob, who thrashed the IAS officer, alleged that she was the reason for his death. They were said to have videographed the incident, and handed over the footage to the media, to malign her image.

Rashmi had caused a ripple in the state administration by exposing alleged financial irregularities by her senior IAS colleague Amita Prasad during the latter’s tenure at ATI.

Expressing solidarity with the Rashmi, Shamala Kunder, state chief Secretary of BJP Mahila Morcha at the protest meet mocked the congress ruled state government for not providing justice to the IAS officer. She complimented Rashmi for her sincere work as bureaucrat. “In 17 years, she was transferred 23 times, for her sincere work. But, the government has failed to provide security to a person of such caliber”, she rued.

Criticizing the silence of Chief Minister, Pulasya Rai demanded to know as to what the government is doing to protect true public servants. “The government should hand over the case to CBI”, she said.
