Puttur: A biker lost his life on the spot while his pillion suffered severe injuries when the bike that they were riding on collided head on with a pick-up van, near Uruvaalu-Aleeje village, in Belthangady.

The deceased has been identified as K P Abdullah, 38, resident of Kudradka Village in Belthangady Taluk. Abdullah was riding his bike to Guruvayanakere from Uppinangady when a speeding pick up van knocked him down.

While Abdullah died on the spot, his relative Yakub, who was pillion with him suffered severe injuries.

The rider is survived by his wife and three children.

Puttur traffic police have registered a case.
