Mangalore : The Akhila Bharatha Beary Parishad  felicitated Mangalore South MLA JR Lobo at a function held at Town Hall here on June 13, Thursday. The function was inaugurated by  Kanachur Monu, Chairman of Kanachur Academy, by slicing a piece of the traditional wheat halwa.

Responding to the felicitation conferred on him, Lobo said a felicitation is a reminder of the responsibilities of a  leader towards the society  and  a token of appreciation for his services to the society.

Abdul Azeez Baikampady, President of the Parishad, presided over the function. Five corporators of Mangalore City Corporation belonging to the community as well as  councilors of Ullal TMC and other local bodies  were honoured.

Former minister BA Moidin also spoke on the occasion.  Abdul Azeez Haq, Advisor of the Parishad, Abdul Hameed Kinya, General Secretary, V Mohammed Bajpe, Treasurer, Ibrahim Kodijal, Vice-president of DK Muslim Central Committee. BM Farooq, President of Beary Welfare Association and others were present.

The function was followed by Beary cultural programmes. Though all the ministers from DK as well as MLAs were to be felicitated at the function, only JR Lobo had made it to the function.
