Mangaluru: Hours after the news of Basheer’s death spread, several leaders were seen visiting the A J Hospital to offer their condolences to the aggrieved family.
One among such visitors was former MLA Krishna Palemar. However, when Palemar tried to speak to media persons here, after visiting the mortuary, the angry mob gathered here, including PFI activists, asked him not to indulge in politics over a dead body.
Shortly after Palemar’s departure, the mob is said to have started sloganeering against a reputed television channel, reporting live from the premises. A tense situation developed as they resorted to manhandling the crew members. Timely police intervention ensured that the incident did not aggravate further.
Elaborate security arrangements have been made in the hospital to avert any unwanted situations.
Earlier, MLA Moideen Bava too visited Basheer’s family at the hospital.
Basheer (47) fell victim to people who wanted to avenge the death of Deepak Rao. Basheer, however, was neither acquainted with Deepak nor had any role in his murder. He was just a victim of hate politics of people who sought to avenge the death of one with another.
