Mangaluru: An assistant police sub-inspector (ASI) from Bantwal town police station passed away following a heart attack on Monday May 31.

The deceased Jayaram Rai (58) is a resident of Manchi and had been admitted to a private hospital at Mangaluru recently after he complained of a back pain.

He had rendered service in different police stations of the Dakshina Kannada district.
