Thieves target Anganwadi Centre in Bantwal: Goods worth Rs 7,000 stolen

Bantwal: In an unfortunate incident, thieves targeted an Anganwadi centre in Shanti Gudde near Bondala, Panemangaluru village. Anganwadi centres are government initiatives aimed at supporting children’s nutrition and growth.

The perpetrators broke into the Anganwadi centre, stealing various materials valued at approximately Rs 7,000. These items were crucial for preparing food for the children attending the centre.

Anganwadi worker Devaki filed a complaint with the police, detailing the stolen goods. The stolen items included a 10L aluminum cooker worth around Rs 1,500, a 5L aluminum cooker valued at approximately Rs 1,000, two aluminum cans with lids estimated at Rs 3,000, Rs 1,000 in cash, and some grocery items.

The Bantwal town police station has registered a case under IPC sections 454, 457, and 380. Investigations into the incident are underway to apprehend the culprits responsible for this theft.
