Mangaluru: In the backdrop of tension prevailing over communal issues in Dakshina Kannada over the past few days, DC AB Ibrahim has extended ban orders on public programmes and protests till November 27, midnight.
It may be recalled that tension gripped several parts of the state owing to the Tipu Jayanti celebration. DC Ibrahim, after convening a meeting with senior police and revenue officers, passed the order to extend the ban, to avoid untoward incidents.

However, in special cases, prior permission could be obtained from the district administration to undertake any public event.
