Ullal: Birth never defines the success of a person. If that was true, then Drishya N Shetty could have never imagined to become an Ayurveda physician by emerging one of the toppers of the state.

Drishya is the daughter of Nagesh Shetty, a resident of Thokkottu Over Bridge, who is an auto driver by profession. The humble father has toiled very hard to make the dreams of his daughter come true and as a reward to his hardwork, Drishya has emerged as seventh topper in the state in BAMS in the state.

She pursued her Ayurveda studies in Koppa ALNR Rao Memorial Ayurveda College and stood as the seventh topper in the final BAMS examination for 2015-16 conducted by Rajiv Gandhi University for Health Sciences. Daughter of Nagesh-Shamantha couple, she completed her early schooling in Rotary English Medium School, Sakleshpura and St Joseph Higher Primary School. She completed her PUC in St Agnes College, Mangaluru.

Talking about her preparation, Drishya says that she did not study throughout the day, but she planned her schedule well but focusing more on productive activities rather than wasting that time.

Drishya’s mother Shamantha is working in computer section of the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat.

Both her parents say that it is only Drishya’s dedication that has helped her scale greater heights and only hope that she now serves the society with the same dedication.

Drishya has shown to the world that hardwork and dedication always pays off.
